Health and Physical Status

Mrs. Jackson had a cerebrovascular accident six years ago. This resulted in a left hemiplegia that is much improved now, although there is residual weakness on her left side. She returned to her home following the CVA, but after three years found it too much to manage. It was for this reason that she moved to Eliza Bryant. She walks with the help of a walker. Occasionally she uses a cane, but reports that she does not get around very well with it. At the time of her stroke, she had to call out to her upstairs neighbor to get her help. She wears glasses, but reports no serious visual problems. Her interaction during the interview suggested no major hearing problems, and she showed no signs of serious cognitive deficits.
