Current Activities Mrs. Jackson is currently relatively independent. She does indicate that many of her activities take longer than in the past. But she does not complain about lack of energy to undertake occupations that are important to her.
Mrs. Jackson is able to take care of her own personal needs. She can shower, manage her grooming, use the bathroom, and dress independently. She also cooks her own light meals. Most other instrumental needs are taken care of by others: her niece does her shopping and manages her finances, and a staff member does the housekeeping other than cooking. Work Mrs. Jackson no longer works for pay, nor does she engage in volunteer activities. Leisure Mrs. Jackson loves going to casinos to gamble. Eliza Bryant arranges occasional bus trips to nearby casinos (in Windsor, ONT, for example). She also loves to eat, and is appreciative that her niece and her cousins sometimes take her out to meals. She participates in programs at Eliza Bryant from time to time, most often when refreshments are served. According to Mrs. Jackson, on a typical day she stays in her apartment and reads her bible or watches television. She indicates that she prefers to stay in her apartment, and she indicates that she does not chat very often with the other residents. However, based on observation, she seems to know many residents and to enjoy sitting in the lounge with them. Other important activities Mrs. Jackson enjoys going to church and seems to garner support from her attendance at services on Sundays. She has changed churches because the one she used to attend had steps she could no longer manage. She does not seem excessively distressed by the change, but clearly values participation in her new church. Mrs. Jackson did not discuss any sexual issues, but did not seem to miss being married at this point in her life. Have all the information you need? Click
