Current Living Situation

Mrs. Phillips lives alone in a small bungalow. The first floor has a small living room, a dining room, a back room, a kitchen, and a bath with a hand-held shower. Up a very narrow staircase with a ninety-degree turn are three bedrooms and a full bathroom. She has lived in this house since coming to Cleveland with her husband.view related video He made a number of modifications to the house as their family grew, including turning a front porch into the current living room.

Mrs. Phillips sleeps on the second floor, and has resisted attempts by her daughter to get her to move downstairs. view related videoShe indicates that she likes the upstairs bedroom because it is quiet. However, at this point she only goes downstairs once (in the morning) and up once (in the evening). She also notes that she sometimes gets tired while going upstairs, and needs to stop and rest.
