Social and Family History

Mr. Bynum was born in Georgia but moved to Mississippi when he was 2 years old. He was one of 8 children in the family, 4 girls and 4 boys. Only one sibling, a sister, is still living. Mr. Bynum went into the military during the Korean War, and was discharged at age 23. He then moved to Chicago at age 24 to live with his sister. He moved briefly to Milwaukee and arrived in Cleveland in 1954.

Mr. Bynum was married once, but his wife divorced him after 27 years of marriage. They had three daughters and one son. One daughter lives in Memphis, one in Erie. His other daughter and son live in Cleveland. He has numerous grandchildren as well. He does not see his family very often, but from time to time he sends them money.
