| CONTENTS | Cultural Factors of Importance to Mr. Bynum
Mr. Bynum’s main ties to his culture seem to be spiritual and dietary. He enjoys the kinds of food his mother used to prepare when he lived in the South. Their diet was heavily supplemented with meat that they hunted and fish that they caught. He also reports a close relationship with “his God,” although he has largely forsaken his ties to any formal religious observance. He was raised as a Baptist and does still seem to value the spiritual aspects of that religion’s teachings. Although he does not identify it as a cultural factor, Mr. Bynum’s general suspicion of authority figures seems to have a cultural aspect. He indicated dislike for politicians, ministers, doctors, physical therapists, and lawyers. All of these dislikes apparently based on distrust. He told many stories of the ways in which these various figures had let him down. Have all the information you need? Click here
