Mrs. Steele has lived at her current assisted living complex for five years. Previously, she lived in an apartment in a nearby high rise for 10 years. She chose to move because her present apartment was a newer facility and had air conditioning. She reports that she has a living room, one bedroom and a kitchenette. She loves where she is currently living because everyone is nice and people speak kindly.

She enjoys cooking, perceives herself as a good cook, and prepares most of her meals. She sometimes has company and, when she does, she sometimes fixes the meal. In particular, she likes to cook greens, peas, beans, vegetables, chicken, macaroni and cheese and dressing.
