Research

            Work is done in developing future network for space power systems sponsored by NASA Glenn Research Center’s Electrical Systems Branch.  The specific focus of the design is to develop DC-DC power converters with advanced digital control with communication capabilities to improve performance and reliability.  OPNET Modeler is used to develop and simulate the Ethernet network with multiple power modules, which would be use for the communication purposes.

            All the power modules create a power system connected with Ethernet.  Each power module broadcasts the information to all the other power modules and the human interface while collecting valuable data from other broadcasting modules on the network.  In the future, the network will be used to monitor each power module via the human interface, phase staggering, health monitoring, control parameters updates, and auto-tuning.
