Discuss how your perceptions of the concepts associated with "postmodernism" have changed over the course of the last few class sessions. Give some examples from your own experience of things you might now label "postmodern" and explain why you feel this label fits. How does the notion of the "postmodern" fit into the modernization process? into the movement towards a global "world culture"? In your opinion is the idea of the "postmodern" more gesselschaft or gemeinschaft in its cultural orientation? Why might Japan be more open than the United States to the creation of a "postmodern" culture?
