below to be taken to a web version of a PowerPoint presentation introducing
you to some translated Japanese poetry coupled with examples of various
traditional arts and crafts. The poems all employ the moon as a common
motif while the associated artifacts are often connected either to another
image found in the poetry or to the mood the poem is meant to evoke.
As you view the
eighteen short poems, jot down observations prompted by the experience
touched on in the assignment questions.
When you have finished viewing the presentation, write up your findings
in a brief paragraph or two and comment as well on your reactions to
the entire exercise.
