WHAT'S NEW on the WEB SITE

The items listed below have recently been altered in some significant way or have been added to the site.

  • NOTE IMPORTANT CHANGE: The final assignment in the course, Assignment 4, has been changed.  Please print the new version.
  • It is no longer in two parts.  The homework due on April 25 will no longer count as 50% of the paper grade.  It will be evaluated as one of the homework assignments for this section of the course.  This is due to the fact that Dr Charlick found that the assignment was too difficult for many of the students and did not want to penalize them on the final paper.
  • The newly formulated essay question for assignment four is found at this link: POWER and AUTHORITY: PAPER FOUR
  • A second day of  introductory material on the practice of medicine among the Hausa has been added to the third section of the course schedule with subsequent adjustments in the scheduling of the fourth part of the course (including the due date for Essay Three, now listed as Wednesday, April 2, 2003). • Class assignments through the end of February and into early March have been added to the web site. (Tuesday, February 13, 2003)

  • To accomodate the recent disruption in the instructors' access to appropriate classroom technology, an online version of some of the material scheduled to be discussed in class has been reformatted so that it can be accessed over the Internet.
