Students with a major in the College of Science receive undergraduate advising in two distinct areas: General Education Requirements and Major Requirements. Advising about General Education Requirements, required of all undergraduate students regardless of academic program, may be obtained from an Academic Advisor in the College Advising Center. The General Education requirements can be viewed online at http://www.csuohio.edu/acaffairs/gened.htm.
Advising regarding Major Requirements is received through a Faculty Advisor in the department of the student’s chosen major. For Faculty Advisor contact information, please contact the College of Science Dean’s Office or visit the College website for an advising directory.

There are general purpose computer labs located throughout campus. Visit the Information Services and Technology website for information on these labs as well as for details regarding the university’s wireless internet network. A complete listing of all computer labs on campus is available through the Academic Resources webpage (see http://www.csuohio.edu/students/computer.html).

Biological, Geological, and Environmental Sciences: computers in Teaching Assistant/graduate student offices, course labs, and library. In addition, BGES houses a large format printer which can be used to print posters for research displays.
Health Sciences: 30 terminals available for student and instructional use.
Mathematics: (RT 1501) 33 terminals (and a satellite lab with 10 terminals in RT1530) used for instructional purposes in a wide range of courses.
Physics: (SI 117A) 16 terminals available for student use when not in use for instruction.
Psychology: (CB 13) 20 terminals used for statistics and other instructional needs.

Information about some tutoring services available to Cleveland State students may be obtained from the websites of the Focus Center, Tutorial Services, and the Writing Center.
Math and science are particularly challenging disciplines. In order to assist students in achieving success in the classroom, departments in the College of Science offer the following tutoring services:

Biological, Geological, and Environmental Sciences: tutoring is available through private arrangement with the instructor as well as through Teaching Assistant office hours.
Chemistry: free tutoring is available through teaching assistant office hours and through arrangement with instructors.
Health Sciences – Speech and Hearing: tutoring can be arranged through graduate students in the program.
Mathematics: tutoring is available through Graduate Assistants in the Math Learning Center and the Math Testing Center. The Math Learning Center offers targeted tutoring for many classes, including upper-level mathematics classes, and also occasional supplemental instruction. The Math Testing Center offers more generalized tutoring, often for Math Concepts courses.
Physics: tutoring is available through Graduate Assistants/Teaching Assistants and advanced physics majors in SI 117A.
Psychology: tutoring for students in lower division psychology courses and PSY 311 is available through Graduate/Teaching Assistants. Call the Psychology Department office on (216) 687-2544 for information on where and when they are available. Tutoring may also be available through arrangement with course instructors.
