
The Pillars of Gediminas stand in the Lithuanian Cultural Garden as
a symbol of unity. The pillars are modeled after those built by Grand
Duke Gediminas in the ancient city of Vilnius, now part of Poland,after
he unified the provinces and tribes to create the country of Lithuania.
