IDENTITY, BOUNDRIES AND CULTURES IN EASTERN EUROPE

GOALS/OBJECTIVES OF THE UNIT

1)      Students will understand that, as in the entire world, conquering civilizations have made their contributions in Eastern Central Europe.

2)      Students will understand that a significant number of problems experienced by the modern-day countries in the area were implanted centuries ago.

3)      Students will investigate the significance of the contributions made to the Cleveland Cultural Gardens by the peoples who participated in the projects by first researching the area online, then visiting the Gardens.

4)      Students will demonstrate their understandings of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens, and its significance, by creating a cultural garden for one of the Countries of Europe that would reflect the cultures of Europe from 1200 AD to 1750 AD.
