Activities on June 23, 2007

At 9A.M.this morning the students departed to go to a local store, flea market, and gold store. These are stores frequented by the local people. Many different wares are available for purchase.

At 10:30 a wedding celebration was on the schedule. It was held at a wedding center decorated with hundreds of fresh flowers. This celebration was more elaborate, since the families were wealthy. The meal was delicious and the group enjoyed it very much. At this wedding the meal was served to the guests before the actual wedding ceremony. The marriage ceremony was beautiful with many symbolic gestures and items, very few words are spoken. We presented the bride and groom with our presents.

Afterwards we went to a few more stores; these however were more of the tourist variety.

It is interesting to feel all senses stimulated by the various smells, textures, sounds and sights. At about 5P.M. we returned to the college.

The evening was spend doing home work and spending time together.
