Activities on June 29, 2009
The day started with a lecture on Ayurveda, the traditional system of Indian medicine by Dr. Surendran, former Principal of Government Ayurveda College.
After that the group went to a Siddha Medical Center near the campus and the physician there explained to the group the unique nature of this south Indian based form of medicine which dates back to 500 BC. Next was a visit to a Nature Cure Center to learn more about different Naturopathic form of healing. After that the group had lunch at a naturopathic restaurant. Owner of the restaurant gave us a lecture demonstration of eating techniques and the rational for eating different types of fruits, grains and vegetables.
Later we visited the Government Ayurveda college, followed by shopping at a local flea market.
