272H, AN INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE TUESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2008 ORGANIZING THE COURSE OF STUDY ESTABLISHING THE INSTRUCTIONAL STYLE A discussion of themes, goals and objectives, assigned resources, evaluation standards, expectations and assumptions tied to the course of study together with an individualized student exploration of preferred learning styles, thereby helping to determine the instructional and evaluation guidelines to be implemented over the course of the coming semester. JANUARY 17, 2008 A consideration of inquiry questions and avenues of potential interest emerging from the completion of Journal Assignment One based on a varied set of assigned introductory readings and an excerpt from an online video lecture.
TUESDAY,
JANUARY 22, 2008 A session devoted to establishing a commonly agreed upon ground of meaning upon which to build further inquiries into the impact of "cultural interactions" on Japanese culture and civilization plus an attempt to pull together all the various threads developed since the beginning of the semester and to provide a general outline of the process that lies ahead. |
