HIS 195,
INTRODUCTION TO EAST ASIAN HISTORY


ESSAY ASSIGNMENTS

All essays required for HIS 195, AN INTRODUCTION TO EAST ASIAN HISTORY, should be between three and five pages in length, typewritten, double-spaced, and must contain appropriate annotation and a bibliography of sources used (not sources consulted).  
  
To be considered complete, each essay must contain a readily identifiable thesis statement, a series of supporting generalizations and appropriate specific examples and illustrations. 

The essays must be analytical in approach (not descriptive) and must conform to the following topic assignments. 

In meeting the above requirements, students should conform to the standards established and described in the HISTORY DEPARTMENT STYLE SHEET and listed on the ESSAY EVALUATION RUBRIC 

JOURNAL ASSIGNMENT FIVE
(due Monday, February 23, 2009)
and
JOURNAL ASSIGNMENT SIX
(due Monday, February 23, 2009)
or

ESSAY ASSIGNMENT ONE
(due Wednesday, April 1, 2009)

ESSAY ASSIGNMENT TWO
(due Monday, April 20, 2009)

ESSAY ASSIGNMENT THREE
