WHAT'S NEW ON THE WEB SITE

The items listed below have recently been altered in some significant way or have been added to the site.

  • The course schedule of topics to be considered during our consideration of Jung Chang's Wild Swans and the associated Essay Assignment have both been uploaded to the course web site together with the final Journal Assignment (due May 13, 2009). (Wednesday, April 22, 2009)
  • The Reading Assignment from Junichiro Tanizaki's The Makioka Sisters (due Monday, April 20, 2009) has been uploaded to the course web site as has Journal Assignment Eight (on Kinoshita's film Twenty-Four Eyes). (Wednesday, April 8, 2009)
  • Journal Assignment Seven has been uploaded to the course web site. (Monday, April 6, 2009)
  • An additional reading assignment has been added to the Course Schedule for Wednesday, March 11, 2009. (Monday, March 9, 2009)
  • On the basis of our recent in-class discussion and decision concerning the instructional approach for the remainder of the semester, the Course Schedule for the final nine weeks of the term has been uploaded to the web site. However, Journal Assignments and Essay Assignments are still "works in process" -- check back for more information within the next several days. (Saturday, February 28, 2009)
  • Journal Assignment Three has been uploaded to the web site together with the three proposals for the weeks ahead for your consideration and comment. (Monday, February 16, 2009)
  • A revised version of Journal Assignment Two been uploaded to the course web site; the Course Schedule and Journal Assignment pages also have been corrected to reflect the Presidents Day Holiday. (Monday, February 9, 2009)
