As the final section in your WORKSHOP JOURNAL (due Friday, August 13, 2004), beginning on Wednesday, August 11, 2004, take an evaluative look at the THREE teaching units following yours on the Student Web Sites portion of WebCT. Skip over any unit that has not been posted by Wednesday, August 11, 2004 and go on to the next posted unit in the list until you have examined three separate units; those who reach the end of the alphabet should return to the top of the list to complete their trio of observations.

Employ the same TEACHING UNIT EVALUATION RUBRIC used by the instructor to judge the effectiveness of each unit evaluated, then record your observations in the pages of your journal in a paragraph or two for each unit. In your comments consider especially whether or not YOU would consider teaching this particular thematic construct and, if so, whether or not you could do so successfully utilizing the materials found in the unit materials you are evaluating.

As a courtesy, please email your evaluations as well to each of the three workshop participants whose units you examined. You can do so easily through WebCT.

NOTE: completed journals can be emailed to me as an attachment or dropped off at the Department of History office anytime on Friday, August 13, 2004, before 4:00 p.m. I will pick up and read the submitted journals that evening so that I can file grades prior to the final submission deadline.
