HIS 373/573,
CONTEMPORARY JAPAN
IN HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE

WHAT'S NEW on the WEB SITE?

The items listed below have recently been altered in some significant way or have been added to the site:

  • The COURSE EVALUATION QUESTIONNAIRE has been uploaded for your consideration. (Wednesday, April 26, 2000)

  • The MOCK PUBLIC OPINION SURVEY questionnaire has been posted to the web site. (Thursday, April 20, 2000)

  • I have removed references to Tachiya Sakai's What Is Japan?, a text I used the last time I taught the course, that slipped through an earlier revision of the syllabus and journal assignment one (c); the substitute text is Mak, Sunder, Abe and Igawa, eds., Japan: Why It Works, Why It Doesn't -- let me know if any other similar outdated references remain! (Saturday, January 22, 2000)

  • To alleviate the problem everyone is having with establishing your myWebCT access page, try typing in your student identification number as your USER ID and your family name (with a capitalized first letter) as your PASSWORD. Let me know if that works!

REMEMBER that this task must be done by going to the WebCT access page directly, not by using the link on the course web pages (which will only work AFTER you have established your myWebCT page. (Thursday, January 20, 2000)

This site has been prepared by Lee A. Makela for the use of students at Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA, who are enrolled in HIS 373/573, Contemporary Japan in Historical Perspective during the Spring Semester of the 1999 - 2000 Academic Year; please contact him with any comments by email at l.makela@csuohio.edu.
