HIS 373/573,
CONTEMPORARY JAPAN
IN HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE

THREE EXAMPLES OF
FICTIONAL AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL ESSAYS

Each of the following fictional autobiographies makes especially effective and inventive use of a variety of resources to provide the "telling detail" providing a nice sense of authenticity and comprehensive depth to the individual life being constructed.

These example essays illustrate as well the degree to which each "life" should be annotated and the way in which the external sources utilized in preparation of the "autobiography" can be most effectively recognized.
