HIS 374 / 574
REVOLUTIONARY MOVEMENTS IN MODERN CHINA

JOURNAL ASSIGNMENT FOUR

(DUE MONDAY, MARCH 27, 2000)

The Northern Expedition successfully reunited China in 1926, but thereafter Jiang Jieshi (Chiang Kai-shek) proved unable to maintain a viable regime under Guomindang (Kuomintang) leadership. To what degree was this failure due to the actions and activities of the Guomindang itself?

This site has been prepared by Lee A. Makela (l.makela@csuohio.edu) for the use of students at Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA, who are enrolled in HIS 374 / 574, REVOLUTIONARY MOVEMENTS IN MODERN CHINA during the Spring Semester of the 1999 - 2000 Academic Year; please contact him with any comments.
