374 / 574 SUBMISSION CRITERIA All written assignments for the course (journal entries, conference reports, bibliographies, essays) should be typewritten, double-spaced, and submitted (stapled in the upper left) with a coversheet indicating the title of the essay (centered on the page), your name, the number and title of the course, the instructor's name and the submission date (in block form to the lower right of the page). Proper annotation and bibliographic citations should be included in each portion of your essay as submitted. The evaluation criteria for the submission of written work provided in the Department of History's STYLE SHEET for written work submitted to meet designated course requirements should be followed, and consideration should be given as well to the EVALUATION CRITERIA specific to the course. Each portion of the extended essay is due at the time of the scheduled class session on the assigned date. LATE ESSAYS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED: no other assignment will be accepted after the due date itself has passed unless prior arrangements have been made with the instructor. Therefore, if you anticipate a typewriter ribbon breaking or a printer malfunction, car trouble on the way to the university or the death of your grandmother in Dubuque, complete your assignments several days in advance and submit them to the instructor early. ANY EXCEPTIONS TO THE ABOVE CRITERIA MUST BE NEGOTIATED WITH THE INSTRUCTOR PRIOR TO THE DUE DATE AND/OR THE SUBMISSION OF YOUR ESSAY. The first and second portions of the extended essay may be rewritten and submitted for reconsideration at the time the next portion of the assignment is due with the prior approval of the instructor. |
