HIS
272H,
CULTURAL INTERACTIONS: JAPAN
WHAT'S
NEW
The
items listed below have recently been altered in some significant way or
have been added to the site:
- The DAY assigned
for the essay on Madame Sadayakki has been changed to reflect the correct
DATE already listed on the ASSIGNMENTS page.. (Saturday, March 8, 2008)
- A discrepency in
the date listed for the Short Oral Presentations on the CLASS
SCHEUDLE, ASSIGNMENT and ORAL
PRESENTATION pages has been corrected and rescheduled for Thursday,
February 28, 2008. (Wednesday, February 20, 2008)
- The
course schedule has been modified to incorporate the cancelation of
classes on the day of the OBAMA - CLINTON DEBATE to be held on the Cleveland
State University campus Tuesday, February 26, 2008. (Monday, February
18, 2008)
- Please excuse the ongoing problems
with identifying the actual due date for Journal
Assignment One (which is Thursday, January 24, 2008). Various dates,
most of them incorrect, appear at different locations throughout the
course web site, some of them dating back to 2006. I hope I have found
and corrected all these errors at this point (particularly those in
the Assignment list and on the Journal
Assignment page)! Let me know if you encounter others. In the future,
assume that the dates listed in the Course Schedule are correct, whatever
dates and details other pages might provide. (Saturday, January 19,
2008)
- I inadvertently reversed the
class session topics for Thursday, January 17, 2008 and Tuesday, January
22, 2008; please complete Journal Assignment One and the associated
reading and viewing aspects of that assignment by next Tuesday when
we will turn our attention to "Provoking Topics of Interest".
This Thursday instead we will examine some of the terms, concepts and
categories of meaning we will encounter frequently over the semester
ahead. (Wednesday, January 16, 2008)
- The link to the interview with
Yoshikazu Takaya in the reading assignment associated with Journal Assignment
One (due Tuesday, January 22, 2008) has been fixed, as has the wording
for the general assignment itself as it appears in the Course Scheudle.(Friday,
January 18, 2008).
