TEACHING
PROPOSAL PROJECT
ASSIGNMENT
The
project should involve the design of four or more lesson plans based
on effective utilization of primary sources, Chinese / Japanese literary
or artistic resources and/or particularly useful web site materials.
You are particularly urged to consider the utilization or appropriate
adaptation of seminar materials as part of these plans. The project should explain thoroughly how these lesson plans add to and fit into already implemented curriculum materials you currently use in your classroom teaching. In this regard, you might explain how/what you have taught about East Asia in the past with respect to your chosen teaching topic and what new elements/resources you will use in the future as a result of what you have learned in the seminar program. The description should discuss particularly why various materials and web sites used in your project implementation were chosen and specifically how they are to be utilized in the pursuit of your particular learning objectives. Include fully annotated references so that others can locate these materials easily. The project description also should include a discussion of the principles and insights derived from the seminar itself that you hope to pass on to your students through these specific classroom activities. The resulting project description should be detailed enough so that it could be successfully implemented or adapted for classroom use by other seminar participants. |
