We were often welcomed -- as here in Kanazawa -- by local dignitaries and shipside festivities.

Twice -- in Hagi and at Miyajima -- we used Zodiacs to leave the ship and reach shore, adding a bit of adventure to our disembarkations! Notice the names, all associated with the Greek myth from which the ship derives its name as well.

In Nagasaki, local citizens came aboard to demonstrate the art of wearing kimono and even managed to dress Captian Allica in samurai garb.
