Exercise 9.3
You can directly enter numerical answers into the calculator, or you can use it as a tool and have it do the numerical calculations from your data. In either case you need to first set the mode: Fraction or Decimal. The expected mode is set by the exercise but you can switch it (but doing so will erase any entries already made).
In fraction mode, the calculator shows answers in the least common denominator. For example, if you add 1/6 to 1/3 the answer is given as 1/2 rather than as 3/6.
In decimal mode, the calculator looks for an answer with 4 significant digits.
The calculator has one memory. Results can be stored and recalled as needed. This is to facilitate working with more complicated equations such as Bayes Theorem.
