In an explanation, everyone agrees that what looks like the conclusion is true while in an argument there is dispute about whether the conclusion is true or false. However, there might be dispute about whether a particular theory is a good explanation. So, an explanation might be the conclusion of an argument. More complicated cases lie beyond the scope of this course.
