Terms are the noun phrases that are the logical SUBJECT and the logical PREDICATE of the proposition. The subject starts with the word after the quantifier and ends with the word before the copula. The predicate starts with the word after the copula and ends at the end of the sentence.
The MAJOR term is the predicate of the conclusion, the phrase after the copula. It also occurs in the major or first premise in a standard form syllogism.
The MINOR term is the subject of the conclusion, the phrase between the quantifier and the copula. It also occurs in the minor or second premise.
The MIDDLE term is the one common to the two premises.
