The English word AND can be tricky.

For example, Frankie and Johnny are carpenters is translated as Cf • Cj which is as expected.

But consider, Carpenters and painters work hard.
INcorrect translation: (x)[(Cx • Px) ⊃ Hx]

The symbols say that x must be BOTH a carpenter and a painter to work hard!
Correct translations: (x)[(Cx ∨ Px) ⊃ Hx] and (x)(Cx ⊃ Hx) • (x)(Px ⊃ Hx)
