  • Dr. Sun has been awarded for a NSF MRI grant for NMR spectrometer acquisition.

  • Dr. Sun has been invited to contribute a Book Chapter on glyco-functionalized quantum dots to an ACS Symposium Series Book titled as Glyco-Nanotechnology as a Bridge to New Medicines. The manuscript has been accepted.
  • Dr. Sun has beenelected as Editorial Board Member of International Journal of Organic Chemistry (a peer reviewed journal, Scientific Research Publishing Group).

2010

  • Graduate student Srinivas Chalagalla has defended his Ph.D. dissertation and obtained his Ph.D. of Clinical and Bioanalytical Chemistry Degree on December 1, 2010. Congratulations!
  • Dr. Sun has beenelected as Editorial Board Member of Journal of Glycomics and Lipidomics (a peer reviewed journal, OMICS Publishing Group)
  • As Organizer/Host, we had successfully held the 2010 Cleveland Symposium of Pharmaceutical Sciences (about 50 attendees, April 30, 2010) at Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio. Cheers!

  • Dr. Sun has been awarded a Collaborative Cardiovascular Research Grant from Ohio Research Scholar Program with Dr. Qingyu Wu at Cleveland Clinic for study on site-specific antithrombotic agent (starting from March 15, 2010).
  • Dr. Sun has been awarded an NIH RO1 grant for study on antithrombotic protein conjugate (starting from March 09, 2010).
  • Dr. Sun’s paper has been the Most-Cited Articles No.1 during the past three years in Bioconjugate Chemistry (American Chemical Society).

2009

  • Graduate student Srinivas Chalagalla has been awarded for the Best Poster Presentation at the 2009 Midwest Carbohydrate and Glycobiology Symposium held at University of Cincinnati, Ohio, October 4-5, 2009. Congratulations!
  • Undergraduate student Valentinas Gruzdys’s summer research has been selected for one of the twenty Poster Presentations from all Ohio universities in the 6th Annual BioOhio Student Poster Competition at 2009 BioOhio Annual Conference held atDublin, Ohio September 30 & October 1, 2009. Congratulations!
  • Dr. Sun has beeninvited as Guest Editor of a special issue on carbohydrate research for Medicinal Research Reviews (peer reviewed journal, Wiley InterScience), 2010, Volume 30 Issue 2.
  • Graduate student Hailong Zhang has been awarded for the Cellular and Molecular Medicine Fellowship from Cleveland State University College of Graduate Research for two years starting from August, 2009.
  • Dr. Sun has beeninvited as Co-Chair of Organic Chemistry Session of American Chemical Society Central Regional Meeting (CERMACS2009), May 20-23, 2009, Cleveland, Ohio.
  • Hailong Zhang has defended his Ph.D. candidacy exam on May 13, 2009.

2008

  • Dr. Sun has beenelected as Editorial Board Member of Virus Adaptation and Treatment (a peer reviewed journal, Dove Medical Press)
  • Graduate student Srinivas Chalagalla has defended his Ph.D. candidacy exam on December 12, 2008.
  • As Elected Organizer/Host, we had successfully held the 4th Midwest Carbohydrate and Glycobiology Symposium (72 attendees, October 3-4, 2008) at Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio. Cheers!
  • Dr. Sun’s paper has been featured on the cover page of Bioconjugate Chemistry (2008, Volume 19, Issue 1, American Chemical Society).
