Course Overview
This course introduces computer organization with focus on the assembly language level, the conventional machine level, and the microprogramming level. It is a basic course for most of advanced computer science and engineering materials since it covers fundamental features of computer system itself. This course covers Chapters 1-8 and Appendix A of the textbook.
Class Policy
Attendance and reading textbook sections before the class are important parts of this course. Four pop quizes will be given based on the preview reading.
Class notes are uploaded to the class homepage at least one day before the class.
Each homework is given a week and must be turned in before the class. No extension will be allowed except for emergency. Studying together in groups is encouraged but work must be your own.
Quizzes and Exams will be open-book and open-notes. No makeup quizzes or exams will be allowed without the prior permission of the instructor.
