EEC 483 Computer Organization

Course Overview

    This course introduces computer organization with focus on the assembly language level, the conventional machine level, and the microprogramming level. It is a basic course for most of advanced computer science and engineering materials since it covers fundamental features of computer system itself. This course covers Chapters 1-8 and Appendix A of the textbook.

Class Policy

  • Attendance and reading textbook sections before the class are important parts of this course. Four pop quizes will be given based on the preview reading.
  • Class notes are uploaded to the class homepage at least one day before the class.
  • Each homework is given a week and must be turned in before the class. No extension will be allowed except for emergency. Studying together in groups is encouraged but work must be your own.
  • Quizzes and Exams will be open-book and open-notes.  No makeup quizzes or exams will be allowed without the prior permission of the instructor.
