Post-Doctoral Research Scholars

Derya Ozhava, PhD

Dr. Ozhava is a postdoctoral fellow with a Ph.D. in Chemistry, specializing in the design and characterization of nanomaterials. Her doctoral research focused on developing nanostructured materials with catalytic properties. Currently, her work centers on musculoskeletal tissue engineering, where she is involved in the biofabrication of regenerative constructs to promote functional muscle regeneration. By integrating materials chemistry, biofabrication and cell biology, Dr. Ozhava aims to engineer regenerative musculoskeletal implants with translational potential for clinical and therapeutic use. Her long-term goal is to be an academic PI and lead transdisciplinary research at the interface of materials science, cell biology and regenerative medicine.
